Airport and aviation pest control

Nightshift has over twenty years of experience providing pest preventative services to international airports, and holds the qualifications and security clearance that airside working demands.

Very few pest control companies can actually get airside. Beyond the treatment itself the constraints are access, vetting and insurance, and most contractors fail on at least one of them before the work is even discussed.

How we work this environment

We work to your access windows and permit regime, 24 hours a day. Because our technicians already work nights as standard, the low-traffic hours that suit a terminal are our normal shift rather than an exception.

The risk profile

What makes this environment different.

Airside access is the real barrier

Escorted access, permits and pass control govern who works where and when. A contractor without cleared personnel becomes an escort burden rather than a solution.

Insurance requirements are an order apart

Airside operations carry liability exposure that standard contractor cover does not contemplate, which is why we hold a dedicated Airport Contractors and Concessionaires policy with a £50m combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage.

A terminal never closes

There is no overnight shutdown to work into. Treatment has to run alongside continuous passenger and cargo operations without obstructing either.

Wildlife and pest management overlap

Bird activity around an airfield is a safety matter as well as a hygiene one, and proofing work has to respect that context rather than simply displacing the problem.

Where we look first

The places it actually starts.

  • Terminal retail, food courts and concession kitchens
  • Baggage handling halls and belt voids
  • Cargo sheds, freight forwarding and bonded stores
  • Airline lounges and hospitality pantries
  • Plant rooms, service tunnels and riser shafts
  • Hangars, maintenance areas and stores
  • Perimeter landscaping, drainage and waste compounds

Compliance & evidence

All personnel are trained and experienced in the detailed risk assessments required to work in these environments. Technicians are DBS checked before deployment and hold the rigorous security clearance required for airside work, with RAMS, COSHH and insurance documentation supplied for your permit and contractor management systems.
