For journalists & producers
Figures you can quote, with the base attached.
We work overnight on commercial contracts across England, which means we see pest problems in buildings the public never visits. This page holds the facts, the numbers and the measure each one is counted on, so nothing has to be paraphrased.

What it is
A commercial pest control contractor working overnight and out of hours.
Where it works
England-wide, with London covered within thirty minutes at any hour.
Who it works for
Housing providers, universities and student accommodation, hotels, hospitals, food manufacturing and facilities management.
Group
Part of the Tyro group, and a sister company of JG Pest Control.
Named spokesperson
Harry Somner, quoted in The Times on 13 October 2026.
Why overnight matters
Kitchens, wards, platforms and trading floors cannot close for a treatment, so the work happens when the building is empty.
Job figures
1 January to 23 September, 2026 against 2025.
Taken from this company's own job records. The window is the same in both years so the comparison is like for like.
| Measure | 2025 | 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bed bug visits | 842 | 1,244 | up 47.7% |
| Bed bug call-outs (episodes) | 378 | 519 | up 37% |
| All visits, every pest | 15,279 | 21,299 | up 39.4% |
| Bed bug share of all visits | 5.5% | 5.8% | up 0.3pp |
On the word call-outs
Coverage in October 2026 reported bed bug call-outs up nearly 50 per cent. That figure is the visits measure, counting every attendance. The separate episode measure, a run of visits at one site with no gap longer than six weeks, rose 37 per cent. Both are accurate and they are different things, so the label and the number should travel together.
For scale: all visits across 2025 totalled 21,332. By 23 September 2026 the figure was 21,299, which is 33 short of the whole of the previous year with more than three months still to run.
In the press
What national coverage said about us.
Quoted, not advertised. Each line links to the piece it came from.
“Two thirds of our bed bug work is in social housing, and the next biggest setting is student accommodation.”

Story angles
What we can speak to.
If one of these fits what you are writing, we can usually come back the same day.
Bed bugs are a housing story, not a hotel story
Two thirds of this company's bed bug work is in social housing and the next biggest setting is student accommodation. That is the opposite of how the subject is usually covered, and it is the line The Times printed.
The rise is real but the base matters
Bed bug visits rose 47.7% in 2026 against the same period of 2025. Over the same window all visits rose 39.4%, so the business itself was growing fast. We will always give you the base alongside the rise.
What a building looks like at 3am
Hotels, hospitals, universities, food factories and transport sites treated while empty. Access, discretion and the reason a treatment cannot wait for office hours.
Resistance and why treatments are getting harder
Why a single visit rarely finishes a bed bug job now, what heat does that chemicals do not, and what that changes for a landlord's budget.

Interviews are with Harry Somner. We can supply the underlying job counts behind any figure on this page, broken down by setting, and we will tell you where a number is too small to carry a percentage.
